Welcome to the Alluvial Community Garden, which was established in 2011 as a place where people of all ages, abilities, and walks of life, as well as religious and political backgrounds, can come together to raise vegetables, learn about good nutrition, and share the joys of gardening and friendship. We hope that our garden will serve as a model for other neighborhoods in the Central Valley of California whose families have difficulty affording fresh produce. The raised and ground level beds, drip irrigation system, on-site tool shed, and composting facilities allow environmentally friendly food production on 1/3 of an acre of idle land donated by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fresno.
